Under the direction of the assigned foreman, repair, build or rebuild structures, including placement or replacement of drainage culverts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Install and replace drainage culverts and concrete forms.
2. Perform cement finishing on curbs and gutters, sidewalks and floor slabs.
3. Install fencing as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED, plus a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the area of concrete work and in use of equipment identified above.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:

1.  Employee must successfully complete the post-offer medical examination and background investigation. 
2.  Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County. Employee must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license by employment date and maintain a valid NM Driver’s license while employed in this position.
3.  Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
4.  Employee must complete required Supervisor classes if applicable. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Duties are performed primarily outdoors which entails exposure to extremes of weather conditions.
2.  Indoor duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment on an even carpeted or tiled surface.
3.  Outdoor duties may be performed on both even and uneven surfaces, which may be either wet or dry.  Surfaces may be inclined or flat, and range from natural undisturbed soil to gravel, asphalt, or concrete.
4.  May perform duties alone or as part of a group.
5.  Work hazards or potential work hazards include exposure to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, mists, and severe weather conditions; driving of vehicles; working in and around heavy equipment; performing duties on rough terrain.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND MATERIALS

1.  Personal computer, telephone, two-way radio, calculator/adding machine, measuring devices, photocopier, fax machine, paper forms, and writing instruments are used in performance of duties.
2.  County vehicle is used by employee in traveling from site-to-site throughout the County.
3.  Safety vest and hard hat are used by worker in performance of outdoor duties.
