POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Specialist/Trainer Senior researches, designs, develops, promotes, coordinates, conducts, evaluates, administers, and maintains adult training programs and activities, including policy and compliance training. Assignments are broad in nature and require initiative, originality, ingenuity, and sound judgment in business consultations. Delivers training through a variety of methods, including performance readiness activities, classroom instruction, on-the-job training, e-learning, and virtual platforms. Works with minimal supervision, consulting with a supervisor on unusual or complex matters. Provides professional and administrative services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate adult education events in a professional setting.
  • Apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in adult education to complete moderate to complex assignments.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of instructional systems theory, design, and implementation.
  • Utilize learning management systems and web delivery tools effectively.
  • Adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe design software, and e-learning platforms.
  • Support training initiatives professionally across all staff levels of the organization.
  • Apply authoritative knowledge of interviewing and business process consultation techniques.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of human behavior and business performance characteristics.
  • Collaborate effectively with community and agency partners.
  • Design and conduct individual and group activities to improve employees’ job readiness.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and the public.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with both traditional and modern job training methods and techniques.
  • Exhibit advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal English.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Management, Public Administration, Organizational Training and Development, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience as an adult educator, facilitator, or trainer in an adult learning establishment and organizational development environment, and instructional systems design.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

PREFERENCES

  • Certification as an adult training professional through the Association for Training and Development (formerly ASTD) or other training association preferred.
